The focus of this program is on identifying and building key conceptual models you can apply to your organization dynamically. These models include: unconscious biases, promoting behavioral change, redefining leadership, recognition of dimensions of diversity, and reinforcing patterns of (dis)engagement.


Business and HR leaders should keep in mind that the use of a technology on its own will never be enough to execute a diversity and inclusion strategy. Still, diversity and inclusion tools can support strategy in a number of ways, including helping to uncover and avoid bias during the recruitment and interview process, training employees on recognizing bias, and tracking the organization's progress toward its goals.

Deutsch was named to her current position in January 2016, after serving as Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel since February 2014. Prior to joining the NBA in January 2023, Ellis previously worked at New York University (NYU) where she served as Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer since 2016. While at NYU, Ellis led core HR services across all business and academic functions for a global employee population of 26,000 in 13 countries spanning the United States, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia, including degree-granting campuses in New York, Abu Dhabi and Shanghai. Focusing on inclusive leadership, Ellis collaborated across all NYU schools and units in the development and execution of numerous groundbreaking programs to recruit and retain a world-class workforce. Under her leadership, NYU launched several firsts, including its Youth Program Compliance Office, Employee Engagement Unit and university-wide Onboarding Center.


Working with Basketball Operations, Hellmuth leads the technical development of the Replay Center and its integration in NBA telecasts and content. Under his direction, the NBA installed SportVU Player Tracking technology in every venue for the 2013-14 season, making the NBA the first major U.S. professional sports league to quantify and analyze player movement in live-game action throughout an entire season.


Previously, Slaton Brown co-founded Curated Pathways to Innovation (CPI), a personalized learning platform focused on increasing the number of women and people of color in technology and other industries. Earlier in her career, she spent 20 years with Hewlett-Packard Company, where she rose to Director, Global Diversity and Executive on Loan, following roles within multicultural and global philanthropy, leading key efforts in Senegal, West Africa.

Prior to BCG, Trish was a Partner at McKinsey & Company for 11 years where she held several leadership roles in the Financial Services and Technology and Operations practices.
